Active student participation is one of the driving forces behind European University Alliances. To explore the present and future of student representation within the alliance, the institutional podcast Committed to Planet A has released a special episode dedicated to the recent leadership transition within its Student Council.
Produced by the Universidad de León, the episode is a showcase of truly trans-European collaboration. Recorded entirely through a remote setup, the session connected a control room with participants joining from four different countries—Belgium, Spain, Pakistan, and Poland—demonstrating that when students come together with a shared purpose, geographical distance becomes little more than background noise.
Hosted by Andrés Sánchez (CODI ULE), the conversation brings together outgoing representatives Ihtesham Ud Din and Aralia Muñiz alongside newly elected members: Juan Guerrero and Klaudia Cholewa. Moving beyond the formal language of institutional reports, the discussion offers an open and honest reflection on the Council’s achievements, challenges, and ambitions for the future.
Throughout the episode, participants discuss ways to strengthen the visibility and impact of Responsible Consumption and Production (RCP) initiatives across all nine partner universities. They also address the practical realities of student representation, highlighting both the successes achieved and the administrative and communication challenges that can emerge between university governance structures and everyday student life.
The episode concludes with a symbolic exchange of “superpowers,” as the outgoing representatives share practical advice and professional insights to support the new leadership team in their upcoming mandates and future career journeys.
More than a conversation about governance, the episode reflects the communication team’s commitment to keeping the microphone open for student voices and ensuring that their ideas continue to shape the future of the alliance. It serves as a reminder that, across all campuses and all wavelengths, student engagement remains one of the most powerful engines driving this European project forward.
The full episode is now available on all major podcast platforms.
