Online Lecture Series 2026
Sustainable Resources: from mine planning to post-mining futures
Online lectures | October 2026 – January 2027
- Upcoming events
EURECA-PRO is launching its sixth free online lecture series, consisting of 19 lectures presented by leading professors and researchers from the EURECA-PRO alliance. The lecture series explores sustainable resource management across the entire mining lifecycle: from responsible mine planning and extraction to circular economy approaches, environmental restoration, and post-mining futures.
OBJECTIVES
The lecture series provides an interdisciplinary overview of sustainable resource management and responsible mining. Participants will explore environmental, technological, economic and social aspects of the mining lifecycle, gaining insight into current research and innovative practices supporting the transition towards a more sustainable and circular use of natural resources.
Key details
Thematic Areas:
- Foundations & frameworks
- Sustainable exploration & extraction
- Circular economy & resource efficiency
- Digitalisation & innovation
- Environmental management & mine closure
- Social responsibility & governance
- Future perspectives
Students from EURECA-PRO partner universities can receive 3 ECTS, if they attend at least 60% of the lectures (10 of 19) and pass the module exam.
The course will also be offered in an asynchronous format, allowing participants to complete it at their own pace and get the certificate of attendance.
Registration for the asynchronous mode remains open until the end of the course.
