Montanuniversität Leoben student represents EURECA-PRO at the 1st Conference for Student Representatives in European University Alliances

1st Conference for Student Representatives in European University Alliances organised by ESU (European Student’s Union) and FAIRe (Academic Forum for Information and External Representation) took place from 7th of December to 10th of December 2023 in Coimbra, Portugal.

The conference had approximately 80 participants, including student representatives from 38 out of 50 Alliances, General Coordinators, representatives from the European Commission, the European Students Union (ESU) and the Erasmus+ Portugal Agency. Organised closely with the Municipality of Coimbra, the University of Coimbra, the Academic Association of Coimbra and the Erasmus+ Portugal Agency, the conference was held to discuss and shape the future of higher education collaboration across borders.

Olivia Yakunina, student representative and member of the Student Co-Creation group, attended and represented EURECA-PRO during the event. Central topics on development of the European Alliances such as student representation, continuity, student mobility, quality assurance and joint degrees were discussed.  The event allowed student representatives from alliances to share their experiences, best practices and struggles through workshops and discussions to find solutions and defend students’ rights. Additionally, the importance of preservation of cultural heritage was highlighted and the students got the chance to experience Coimbra’s culture during their stay.
