The EURECA-PRO Review Week 2025, hosted in Nancy, marked a significant milestone in the development of the European University Alliance. One of the most noteworthy achievements of the week was the formal signing of a Declaration of Intent by the rectors of the nine partner universities to establish a legal entity for the EURECA-PRO alliance. This decisive step represents a milestone in the ongoing institutionalisation of EURECA-PRO and paves the way for a more integrated and sustainable collaboration framework.
By committing to the creation of a legal entity, the alliance underlines its dedication to a shared vision for the future of European higher education. The legal entity will provide a robust governance structure that facilitates joint decision-making, ensures accountability, and fosters strategic alignment across partner institutions. It is envisioned as a mechanism to deepen cooperation in education, research, and innovation, while enabling EURECA-PRO to operate more efficiently and autonomously within the European Higher Education Area.
