 Duration: 40 hours (22 hours of student homework and 18 hours of lectures and workshops)

Credit recognition: 1.5 ECTS

Format: Online format via Zoom and EURECA-PRO Moodle platforms

Objectives: To provide the basic theoretical and practical knowledge and skills that allow to effectively implement interdisciplinary PBL programmes in the academic curricula, with the aim of stimulating educational process by solving real problems or situations and thus, connecting the learning process with its application in the real world.

Competences

  • Understanding the basic aspects of PBL methodology and how to effectively implement it the academic curricula
  • Being capable of implementing small PBL programs within a small group of students
  • Understanding and getting to know different activities that can be implemented into PBL
  • Gaining confidence regarding the implementation of PBL methodologies
  • Learning how to engage students and motivate them to establish effectiveness collaboration and develop problem-solving skills as well as their self-esteem
  • Learning basic strategies to guide students on PBL projects
  • Creating and assessing detailed PBL projects in coordination with different academic disciplines

Programme

  • Lecture 1: Introduction to Project Based Learning (PBL), the general principles of PBL projects implementation
  • Lecture 2: Implementation of PBL projects in accordance with the project management methodology – part one
  • Lecture 3: Implementation of PBL projects in accordance with the project management methodology – part two
  • Lecture 4: Organization of the competition for the implementation of PBL projects, discussion of the application form for the PBL project, examples of completed application forms
  • Workshop 1: Development of an PBL application form, discussion of the submitted application forms for the implementation of PBL projects
  • Workshop 2: PBL project implementation session
  • Workshop 3: PBL project summary session
  • Workshop 4: Course summary session

Evaluation criteria: Attendance of all the workshop sessions will be required. Practical assessment: participants will be required to submit a final report and a presentation on a PBL project implementation
