5 Feb, 2026

The Executive Board of the European University EURECA-PRO, the consortium’s highest executive body, has appointed new leadership. Dr. Cornelius Hagenmeier (Hochschule Mittweida) has been elected Chair, and Prof. Marcin Górski (Silesian University of Technology) has become Vice-Chair.

The Executive Board is responsible for the day-to-day management of the consortium, coordination of its activities, and supervision of the implementation of the strategic objectives outlined in Vision 2040. Key tasks include ensuring effective project implementation, monitoring partner responsibilities, and maintaining consistency across the nine partner universities. As the central operational body, the Board ensures harmonised processes and integrated activities at the programme level. The newly elected chair and vice-chair will serve a two-year term.

Future Together

Both Dr. Hagenmeier and Prof. Górski expressed their gratitude to their predecessors, Prof. Carsten Drebenstedt and Prof. Roberto Baelo Álvarez, for establishing the solid foundations on which EURECA-PRO continues to grow as a European leader in sustainable development.

The newly elected Board will continue to focus its activities on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
