Join us in Freiberg, Germany, from June 8–12, 2026, for the 20th Freiberg Colloquium of Young Researchers, presented by EURECA-PRO!
Building on the success of previous editions, this milestone anniversary brings together young researchers from across Europe to engage in interdisciplinary exchange, cutting-edge research discussions, and meaningful collaboration — all in the heart of one of Europe’s most storied mining and innovation regions.
Why Attend?
Participants take part in a comprehensive programme including a training course on excellence research for sustainability, as well as excursions to institutions and companies in a region historically known not only for its mining heritage but also for its high-level innovative strength. Networks emerge not only through academic discourse but also through shared impressions — social events round off the picture. To help non-native speakers feel at home, we also offer a German crash course.
The main language of the colloquium is English.
The Young Researchers Colloquium is embedded in the “Berg- und Hüttenmännische Tage” (BHT 2026) at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend further presentations from the broader BHT programme.
Participation in the colloquium is free of charge for all participants.
Financial support for travel and accommodation may be available through your local ERASMUS office.

PhD students from all EURECA-PRO partner universities are warmly invited to apply. To register your interest, please prepare the following documents:
- Motivation letter (200–300 words)
- Short CV
- Extended abstract of your presentation (250–300 words)
